Modern Workplace Infrastructure Engineer
About the Role
Do you want to be part of building a smarter, more reliable, and secure workplace within a rapidly growing environment?
We’re seeking a Modern Workplace Infrastructure Engineer to play a central role in shaping and supporting our modern IT environment.
This is a hands-on technical role. You’ll engage in configuring Intune, managing policies, deploying packages, maintaining cloud services—but also helping us continuously improve how workplace technology operates.
You’ll take ownership of platforms like Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, and Azure, ensuring they’re secure, optimised, and delivering real value. Additionally, you’ll lead technical initiatives around automation, AI adoption, and M&A integration work.
You’ll collaborate closely with infrastructure peers, service desk, and wider IT teams, contributing to a collaborative environment where ideas are valued and improvements are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities
∙ Modern Workplace & Cloud Management
- Deploying, configuring, and optimising Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, and Azure services
- Owning device management, including policy configuration and application deployment via Intune
- Continuously improving performance, security, and user experience across workplace technologies
∙ Virtualisation & Cloud Infrastructure
- Implementing and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 environments
- Monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability
∙ Network & Infrastructure
- Designing, configuring, and troubleshooting network environments
- Managing and optimising firewall and switching technologies
- Ensuring infrastructure is secure, efficient, and well-performing
∙ System Administration
- Managing operating systems, including Windows 11, Windows Server, iOS, and macOS
- Maintaining device compliance, patching, and configuration standards
- Handling escalations from the support team

∙ AI & Automation
- Supporting AI pilot projects and initiatives
- Developing automation and scripting solutions (PowerShell)
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort
∙ Security & Resilience
- Implementing and maintaining security controls across endpoints and cloud platforms
- Supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions
∙ Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Assisting with integration of systems and infrastructure from acquired organisations
- Aligning new environments with our standards and practices
∙ User Support & Documentation
- Providing technical support and guidance to end-users
- Creating and maintaining clear documentation and standard operating procedures

Technical Requirements
We require prior experience with:
- Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Defender
- Virtualisation concepts
- Networking and security practices
- Firewall and switching technologies
- Management of Windows, iOS, and macOS environments
- Backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Scripting or automation (PowerShell and similar)
Desirable Exposure
- Experience with M&A integrations or complex environments
- Knowledge of Copilot and Claude, and managing AI Agents

Cultural Bonus
Certifications like Microsoft Azure Administrator or Endpoint Administrator (and familiarity with ITIL practices) are welcomed.
