About the Role
The Modern Workplace IT Specialist, Workstations role ensures reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of shopfloor and administrative IT workstations. Duties include technical solutions, project ownership, operational support, and global standardisation. Closely collaborating with IT and Procurement, the specialist promotes cost-optimised, scalable solutions, driving adoption within Business Groups.
Key responsibilities include maintaining / enforcing workstation technology standards, crafting business cases, sharing training materials, and automating enhancements to improve system reliability and user experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for Amcor’s mobility infrastructure—incident management, change control, monitoring, diagnostics, and maintenance adherence to ITIL v3/4 best practices
- Lead problem reporting and change control for assigned systems, including escalations and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with the IT Security Team to implement endpoint security solutions (hardware, firmware, software) and ensure data protection aligns with Amcor standards
- Partner with global Client Infrastructure teams, cross-department peers, and suppliers to resolve complex issues and align solutions
- Work closely with IT Operations to design processes, training, and documentation for global workstation infrastructure support
- Develop documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, diagrams, and training materials for internal teams
- Act as a project facilitator, liaising with stakeholders to guide initiatives, secure approvals, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
Note: Tasks may evolve based on business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical IT environment
- Ability to respond to incidents following rotating 7x24 on-call rotas (country-specific requirements apply)
- ITIL Certification is advantageous but not essential
- Hands-on experience with:
- Workstation & server infrastructure (software distribution, disaster recovery, offline situational support, Microsoft Windows/Linux), shopfloor MES/HMI solutions
- Anti-virus security, systems automation, scripting, and workplace agent deployment methods
- Proactive learner: Self-directed approach to upskill in emerging technologies and processes
- Must be a fluent English speaker (company working language)
