Remote working is available, with occasional travel to sites in the North-West of England.
Hours: 37 per week
Key Responsibilities
- Lead safety engineering assurance activities, ensuring technical rigour, compliance, and alignment with regulatory standards
- Review and approve safety engineering deliverables, confirming proper verification, validation, and governance controls
- Manage technical safety inputs to guarantee engineering solutions meet scope, quality, and programme requirements
- Develop and oversee calculations, analyses, technical reports, specifications, and method statements
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships, resolving issues, tracking progress, and supporting future business development

Essential Requirements
Experience:
- Chartered Engineer status with extensive experience in relevant engineering disciplines
- Proven track record leading safety engineering activities within a highly regulated industry
- Strong background in safety assurance, technical governance, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstratable experience in client-facing roles with expertise in managing complex stakeholder interactions
- Ability to deliver authoritative technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Mandatory Chartered Engineer status
Security Clearance
Candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining Standard (BPSS) UK security clearance. Details available at: UK Security Vetting – Clearance Levels.
