Molecular Biology PhD - Sequence Design

Position: Molecular Biology Experts

  • Type: Contract
  • Compensation: $70–$120/hour
  • Location: Remote
  • Duration: 2–3 weeks
  • Commitment: 20+ hours/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and review DNA/RNA sequences and constructs, including primers, plasmids, RNAs, and repair templates.
  • Author challenging, domain-specific tasks and write accurate, well-documented solutions as ground truth.
  • Evaluate AI model outputs against expert-quality solutions and provide clear, written feedback on:
    • Correctness
    • Rigor
    • Reasoning
  • Collaborate with other subject-matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.
  • Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Practicing or recently practicing molecular biologist with hands-on experience designing nucleic-acid sequences.
  • Strong peer-reviewed publication record in venues such as:
    • Nature
    • bioRxiv
    • Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press
    • eLife
  • PhD strongly preferred in:
    • molecular biology
    • genetics
    • biochemistry
    • synthetic biology
    • bioengineering
    • or a related life-science field
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to justify design choices clearly.
