The Role
As a Senior Observability Engineer. You will be joining our global Monitoring and Observability team. In this role, you will design, implement, and support enterprise-scale observability solutions that deliver end-to-end visibility across applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms. You will drive monitoring strategy, enhance platform reliability, and enable proactive incident detection and resolution through modern observability practices, automation, and actionable operational insights.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and manage enterprise observability solutions covering metrics, logs and distributed tracing.
- Support the strategic migration from legacy monitoring platforms to a modern observability ecosystem.
- Administer, maintain and scale observability platforms running on OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
- Implement and manage observability instrumentation using OpenTelemetry frameworks.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting and dashboarding solutions using Grafana Enterprise technologies.
- Build and optimize Prometheus-based monitoring solutions and create efficient PromQL queries.
- Create and maintain Helm charts to support platform deployment and lifecycle management.
- Automate operational processes, deployments and system configuration through scripting and tooling.
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure and application teams to establish observability standards and best practices.
- Contribute to platform reliability, performance optimization and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
- Proven experience in designing and operating enterprise observability solutions.
- Hands-on expertise in at least one of the following areas: Open Telemetry, Grafana Enterprise Stack (Mimir, Loki, Tempo) and ITRS Geneos administration.
- Google Cloud Observability
- Strong experience administering OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments.
- Expertise with Prometheus monitoring and advanced PromQL query development.
- Strong experience with Grafana dashboard creation, alerting and data source management.
- Experience creating, deploying and maintaining Helm charts.
- Understanding of observability principles including metrics, logs, traces and alerting strategies.
- Experience supporting large-scale, highly available production platforms.
- Ability to drive best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience
- Automation and scripting experience using Python.
- Automation and scripting experience using Bash.
- Familiarity with enterprise CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
- Experience supporting cloud-native transformation programs.
- Knowledge of site reliability engineering (SRE) and operational excellence practices.
