Monitoring Surveyor – Civil Engineering
Location: City of London, London Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum + Package Type: Full-time Sector: Civil Engineering
About the Role
Are you a Monitoring Surveyor looking to build a long-term career in civil engineering on major infrastructure projects?

Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor, is looking to appoint a Monitoring Surveyor to join their delivery team on a long-term infrastructure project. This role offers the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain geotechnical monitoring instrumentation.
- Carry out monitoring surveys and ensure:
- Accurate collection, collation, and interpretation of monitoring data.
- Data is stored, managed, and filed correctly, ensuring accuracy and currency.
- Attend client meetings to discuss:
- Monitoring results.
- Provide technical updates.
- Prepare:
- Method Statements.
- Risk Assessments.
- Activity Briefings.
- Installation Commissioning Reports.
- Liaise effectively with:
- Clients.
- Site management.
- Internal project teams.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with:
- Health and safety procedures on site.
- Support:
- Continuous improvement.
- Professional development.
- Develop an understanding of:
- Project costs.
- Risk management.
- Commercial awareness.

Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Practical experience within:
- Geotechnical monitoring.
- Instrumentation.
- Related engineering environments.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to craft clear technical reports.
- AutoCAD proficiency.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise and strong overall IT skills.
- Good understanding of:
- Geotechnical engineering principles.
- Industry best practices.
- A valid CSCS Card.
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to:
- Travel to sites.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a geotechnical monitoring or instrumentation role.
- BEng or MEng in:
- Civil Engineering.
- Geology.
- Or an equivalent/relevant discipline.
