Production Manager
Role Overview
The Production Manager will lead and establish a dedicated team responsible for communicating, processing, and delivering all work passing through production and installation departments. This critical role ensures smooth workflow organisation, deadline adherence, and seamless operations from start to finish.
The Production Manager will:
- Forecast and manage production lead times.
- Oversee production operations while collaborating with the Installation Manager on order scheduling.
- Receive support from the Business Support Assistant and report directly to the Senior Management Team.
Key Responsibilities
Workflow & Schedule Management
- Collaborate with the Installation Manager to develop, manage, and update installation and production schedules.
- Assess installation requirements to allocate time and resources effectively.
- Regularly review schedules with key team members to ensure deadline compliance.
- Monitor deadlines and proactively mitigate potential delays or bottlenecks.
- Communicate and implement any schedule changes immediately.
- Identify and address production pinch points in a proactive manner.

Quality Control & Documentation
- Conduct thorough quality checks on project/job documentation before production.
- Maintain meticulous job folders for production tracking.
- Verify completed site and production photography as a key QC measure.
- Log and analyse issues through root cause analysis reports.
- Ensure purchasing and product delivery documentation aligns with company standards.
Supply Chain & Resource Management
- Research and source cost-effective stock/material suppliers, including due diligence on new vendors.
- Coordinate with couriers/freight providers to ensure delivery/adherence to timelines.
- Request sub-contractor estimates for production as needed to uphold schedule commitments.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Oversee the production team, ensuring duties meet company expectations.
- Provide hands-on support in production/printing areas as required.
- Monitor and escalate health & safety concerns in the production environment.
- Liaise with Account Management & Sales teams to clarify project specifications.
- Report directly to the Senior Management Team, providing weekly updates on production status and performance.

Desired Requirements
- Industry Experience: Proven expertise in the signage industry preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and organise a production team effectively.
- Organisational Skills: Strong time-management and scheduling abilities with attention to detail.
- Problem Solving: Analytical mindset for root cause analysis and solution implementation.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills for collaboration across internal/departmental/external stakeholders.
- Health & Safety: Familiarity with workplace safety regulations, specifically in manufacturing contexts.
