Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a MOT Tester based at the Formula One Autocentre in Tonbridge or Tunbridge Wells. The MOT Tester will carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations, accurately assessing vehicle safety and roadworthiness. Day-to-day tasks include preparing vehicles for MOT inspection, completing test documentation, and communicating findings to customers clearly and professionally. The role also involves working closely with technicians and service advisors, supporting workshop activities where required, and following all health, safety, and quality procedures. The MOT Tester is expected to contribute to a positive customer experience and uphold Formula One Autocentres’ standards of service and professionalism.

Qualifications

- Current DVSA-approved MOT Tester qualification (Class 4 and/or other relevant classes) and valid MOT Tester license.
- Proven experience in vehicle inspection and light vehicle maintenance within a workshop or autocentre environment.
- Strong understanding of MOT testing standards, DVSA guidelines, and vehicle safety regulations.
- Ability to accurately record test results, complete documentation, and use relevant MOT testing equipment and digital systems.
- Good communication skills for explaining test outcomes and recommendations to customers in a clear, professional manner.
- High level of attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to compliance and safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy on-site environment, including occasional weekend or extended hours as needed.
- NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is desirable.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
