Motion Designer

Location: London / Manchester

Motion designers looking to drive revenue for innovative brands through cutting-edge solutions like AI, augmented reality (AR), and creative data strategies – this is for you.


About the Role

This position is within our Marketing & Technology service based in London. Here, we merge data-insight, creative innovation, and paid media to solve business challenges across platforms such as social media, influencer campaigns, TTL ads, and A/B testing.

Our client base includes global recognised names like eBay, easyJet, Just Eat Takeaway, and PepsiCo.

This exciting opportunity involves working with an AI Platform client, where work spans from standard, high-volume creative outputs to full-scale, international productions.


Responsibilities

Core Deliverables

  • Art Direction: Influence and shape the look and feel of moving and static outputs from initial concept to final execution.
  • Narrative & Design: Develop compelling motion storytelling, including styleframes, pacing, composition, and visual structures.
  • Production: Oversee high-quality motion and design work for campaigns and branding initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with a multidisciplinary team (including graphic designers, developers, and creative strategists).
  • Leadership: Guide junior team members by defining art direction, quality control, reviewing drafts, and approved final deliverables.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead with new motion design tools, platforms, RIAs, and reference studios.

Stakeholder & Client Interactions

  • Present high-level creative ideas to senior stakeholders in both UK and US across multiple time zones.
  • Participate in in-person, intensive creative sprints and workshops with client and internal teams.
  • Adapt fast and deliver polished work in short timescales for live instalments.

Skills & Solutions

  • Dynamic Communication: Present complex ideas clearly to both creative and non-creative audiences.
  • Multifunctional Scope: Cover everything from instant branding fixes to full art-directorial visioning.
  • Tool Mastery: Proficient with industry-standard motion design software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Figma).

Qualifications & Experience

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong visual intuition for working within and beyond creative briefs.
  • Proven motion design experience with expertise in art direction breadth (e.g., studio samples, commercials, TDD).
  • Storytelling confidence through composition, framing, and pacing (with evidence of your work progress).
  • Conceptual & high-complexity execution—able to sketch, trial, refine, and polish motion ideas.
  • Example portfolio: Examples showcasing concept inception to completed high-impact deliverables (include styleframes or moodboards).
  • Vocal, engaging client-facing presentation style (people should prefer your ideas).

Bonus Points

  • Experience with AI tools and willingness to explore their applications in motion design or client-facing campaigns.
  • Collaborative team player with the confidence to challenge norms and incorporate constructive criticism.
  • Experience working within execution teams (e.g. account handling, PPM processes).
  • Multidisciplinary creator— adept at UI/UX design, illustration, or interface testing.
  • Creatively curious and deeply engaged with emerging motion design practices.
