Job Title: Claims Handler
Location: Leeds
Salary: £25,000 – £32,000

This opportunity sits within a growing and well-regarded independent insurance brokerage with a strong presence across commercial lines. The firm continues to invest in its Leeds office and claims function, offering a structured yet progressive environment where individuals are supported to develop and take on increased responsibility as the business expands.
Role Summary:
This is a hands-on Claims Handler role focused on delivering high-quality case management across a range of insurance claims, with a strong emphasis on motor. The position offers clear progression, with scope to step into more complex and higher-value claims within 6–12 months as experience develops.

Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Case Management: Handle claims from first notification through to resolution, building end-to-end technical expertise
- Client Support: Advise clients on policy coverage and loss mitigation, strengthening client-facing skills
- Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with insurers, loss adjusters, and solicitors to progress claims efficiently
- Claims Validation: Assess claims against policy terms, enhancing technical understanding of coverage
- Escalation Handling: Identify complex or high-value claims and escalate appropriately, gaining exposure to advanced cases
- Reporting & MI: Collate and analyse claims data, contributing to meaningful management reporting

Requirements:
- Previous experience handling insurance claims within a broker, insurer, PLC, or public sector environment
- Strong motor claims knowledge is essential
- Experience managing a caseload and working through claims processes end-to-end
- Understanding of FCA regulations and claims compliance procedures
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and external stakeholders
