Motor Claims Handler (12-Month FTC)

We’re hiring for a Motor Claims Handler (Fixed-Term Contract) to support our growing Insurance team in the UK and Ireland!


About the Role

To keep up with our growth, we’re looking for a dedicated Claims Handler to join our dynamic Claims team. At the heart of everything we do is putting people first—this extends to our clients and employees alike.

As a Claims Handler, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing administration, progression and advocacy on client claims
  • Offering advice on policy coverage to clients
  • Supporting the overall claims process, including:
    • Issuing and administering claims notifications
    • Negotiating settlements
    • Managing claims from start to finish with insurers and appointed representatives

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need:

  • Excellent communication skills – capable of engaging with internal and external stakeholders (face-to-face, over the phone, and in writing)
  • Strong interpersonal skills – to build mutually beneficial business relationships at all levels
  • Planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing predominantly Motor claims, with preference for:
    • Experience in a Commercial Insurance setting
    • At least 2 years’ experience in managing commercial general insurance claims

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll:

  • Handle incoming enquiries from clients, insurers, and third parties professionally and efficiently
  • Manage clients’ claims, including offering guidance on cover and indemnity
  • Proactively manage First Notification of Loss (FNOL) to minimise losses and prevent leakage
  • Monitor outstanding claims progress, providing timely and accurate updates to clients and Account Executives
  • Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, and third parties
  • Provide administrative support to Broker Account Executive Teams, aiding in client relationships and policy inception/renewal
  • Represent carriers on delegated authority where agreements allow
  • Support the leadership team in implementing best practices, reviewing processes, and driving continuous improvement
  • Undertake additional duties as required
