Motor Claims Handler
Motor Claims Investigator – Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Chelmsford, Leeds, or Bournemouth (Hybrid – 2–16 office days/month) Contract: 12-month fixed-term, full-time (37.5 hours)
A critical opportunity to develop your claims expertise in a supportive, high-performing environment, delivering fair and efficient outcomes for customers.
Key Responsibilities

New motor claims registration & validation
- Accurately assess and validate claims within policy terms, conditions, and regulatory requirements.

Investigation, negotiation & settlement
- Resolve claims within authority limits, ensuring fair and timely customer outcomes.

Fraud identification & risk management
- Gather evidence, conduct risk assessments, and flag potential fraud.

Multi-stakeholder liaison
- Collaborate with underwriters, suppliers, solicitors, and loss adjusters to streamline claim resolution.

Reserve management & payments
- Maintain accurate reserves and process payments in line with company guidelines and FCA standards.

Internal task management
- Coordinate diaries, inactivity tracking, cheques, and recoveries within set deadlines.

Escalation & referral handling
- Manage claims requiring escalation via formal referral processes.

Team development & knowledge sharing
- Mentor junior colleagues and support continuous improvement.

Process enhancement
- Identify opportunities to innovate through technology and operational efficiencies, improving customer experience.

Salary & Remuneration
- Annual Salary: Circa £25,307 (experience, location, and skills-based).

Desirable Experience
✔ Insurance/claims handling background ✔ Proficiency with responsible AI tool utilisation (e.g., claims triage, fraud detection).
