Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Motor Mechanic role based in Walsall. The Motor Mechanic will carry out routine vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of motor vehicles to manufacturer and company standards.

- Inspecting vehicles
- Identifying mechanical and steering issues
- Performing mechanical and electrical repairs
- Completing scheduled servicing
The role involves maintaining accurate service records, ensuring workshop safety and cleanliness, and collaborating with the service team to meet turnaround times. The Motor Mechanic will also interact with customers to explain work carried out, provide clear recommendations, and support ASK Motors’ commitment to trust, transparency, and excellent service.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in vehicle maintenance and motor vehicle systems, including routine servicing and mechanical diagnostics.
- Experience in maintenance & repair of motor vehicles, with the ability to manage both minor fixes and complex fault resolution.
- Knowledge of steering and suspension systems, including inspection, adjustment, and repair to ensure safe vehicle handling.
- Proven customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and represent the brand professionally.
- Relevant motor mechanic or automotive technician qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent), and a valid UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in a dealership or independent workshop environment, with familiarity using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Ability to work safely, follow established processes, and contribute positively to a team-focused workshop environment.
