The key responsibilities for the Motor Transport Apprentice include:
- Actively seek to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Manchester Airport Group and how Motor Transport supports the business needs.
- Ensure a consistent, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to learning both at college and in Motor Transport to guarantee personal development and a quality return for investment ensuring fulfilment of required curriculum and desired output.
- Develop effective problem-solving skills with the ability to complete tasks using technical documents either from hard copy or soft copy when provided with the correct tools used in accordance applicable codes of practice.
- Assist technicians when required with the inspection, service, and repair of light, heavy, and specialist equipment in accordance with current legislation and industry best practice aiming towards full qualification.
- Abide by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (Duties of Employees), ensuring safe practice is always adhered to.
- Complete maintenance documentation (hard or soft copy) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Attend all appropriate training at Stansted Airport as set by the Workshop Manager or at the approved training college as set by a tutor.

- 5 x GCSE’s grade 4 and above (including Maths and English).
- Self-confident, enthusiastic, and proactive.
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working as a team.
- IT literate with MS Office.
- UK full Driving Licence preferable.
