Our Keyguards (Motorbike Emergency Response Riders)

Our Keyguards (Motorbike Emergency Response Riders) are the superheroes of our business. They provide help and a first-class response service to our customers - from responding to alarm activations and securing properties, to delivering a forgotten passport to a stressed traveller at the airport; every shift offers a new challenge.

In this dual-role position, you will act as both a Key Guard and a vital support to the Shift Manager, playing a pivotal part in delivering a second-to-none emergency response service. You will lead by example, demonstrating the professional standards and behaviours expected of all Key Guards while ensuring operational excellence at all times. This fast-paced, varied role requires professionalism, reliability, and a proactive mindset to consistently exceed customer expectations.

So, if this sounds like the perfect opportunity, you may just be the person we are looking for to fulfil the role of a Shift Team Leader within our Keyholding team at Banham.

Who are we?

Celebrating our Centenary, Banham is a family-owned, family-run business that has been providing security solutions since 1926. We operate throughout London and the Home Counties, offering a comprehensive service on all aspects of physical and electronic security.

Most important, however, are the people who make up Banham. Our dedicated employees live and breathe collaboration; they inspire and learn from each other while upholding our standards of People, Service and Quality alongside our core values of Family, Pride and Trust. Employees who began their Banham careers as trainees now head our key departments, and we are proud to foster a working environment that encourages staff to stay with us for many years through continual training, internal mobility and development opportunities.

What you will be doing?

  • Perform as an exemplary Key Guard, executing the required duties, upholding the highest of standards for the Banham brand and acting as a role model for our other Key Guards.
  • Coordinate and assign activations and outstanding jobs to the Key Guard team.
  • Monitor response times and performance to ensure service standards are consistently exceeded.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for team queries, concerns, and complaints.
  • Step in for the Shift Manager when needed, including overseeing vehicle safety checks and maintenance planning.
  • Support and deputise for the Shift Manager to keep operations running smoothly at all times.
  • Manage client communication, both inbound and outbound, to support the Office team during office hours and act as a primary contact outside of those hours.
  • Handle People matters professionally and sensitively, including absence, performance, grievance and sickness.
  • Carry out regular audits (daily and quarterly), ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
  • Identify and resolve rota or scheduling issues proactively.
  • Train, coach, and support both new and existing team members.
  • Represent Banham with professionalism at all times, whether on duty or in company uniform/vehicles.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support the team and wider operation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
