What The Role Requires

The Kitchen Manager will maintain high standards of health, safety, and food compliance within the pastry production environment, ensuring all records, training, and procedures are accurate, up to date, and in line with company policies and legislation.

They will oversee supplier compliance, ensure adherence to Food Safety standards across the team, and manage stock control of chemicals and disposables in accordance with COSHH regulations.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and reliable, with a solutions-focused mindset and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards, consistently driving efficiency, compliance, and the smooth running of kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date Pastry Kitchen Health & Safety and Food Safety records in line with company policies
  • Keep all chef and porter training and training records current
  • Ensure supplier lists are up to date and all suppliers are approved via Food Safety Policy questionnaires
  • Monitor senior chefs’ compliance with Food Safety Policy and ensure records are submitted for filing
  • Manage stock control of chemicals and disposables at the pastry production site
  • Support profitability by minimizing wastage and breakages through efficient use of goods
  • Assist senior pastry chefs with food ordering as required
  • Source information on new products, ingredients, budgets, and costings to support kitchen operations
  • Ensure event orders are accurately packed, checked, and dispatched on time according to production lists
  • Complete required training and ensure team compliance with all training requirements
  • Support Corporate Social Responsibility goals by reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support efficient and profitable operations
