MRB Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for Fastjet Aerospace MRB & Buildline Support Engineers to work within our ever-expanding MRB Team at our customer site and Expleo offices, both permanent and PSC contract are available. The salary / hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The contract is outside of IR35, and the successful candidates will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Technical Authority for Design & the Programme Delivery Lead: Carry out design analysis on non conformances produced by manufacturing and quality that highlight defects where a decision needs to be made on rework solutions. Processing concessions / NCR’s assessing the effect of the defect on all assembly / sub assembly interfaces to see the impact to the assembly where the part is to be fitted. Ability to identify the most efficient methods for analysis whilst ensuring adherence to relevant airworthiness and customer procedural requirements. Liaising with multiple functions / suppliers (e.g design/stress approvers) to ensure most appropriate design solution is met with consideration to cost, time, performance, and installation requirements. The design engineer must have a good understanding of tolerance build up via analysis of all the interfacing assembly tolerances and the impact of the machined detail deviation on the next level of assembly. Able to explain and escalate critical issues and ability to mentor others. Qualifications

Engineering degree, or equivalent, with proven practical Engineering & manufacturing knowledge and experience
Essential Skills
SAP CAM CAD: Catia V5 DPDS PLM TEAMCENTRE SKYPE / Outlook / MS Office
Experience
Knowledge of military processes and procedures relating to concessions. Though not essential, experience on BAE Fastjet project an advantage. Experience of automation of repeatable tasks / processes. Experience working on concessions either directly or in the supply chain for a minimum of 3 years, ideally having some level of delegated technical approval. Understanding of material properties, production & manufacturing methods, and practices in addition to their effect on aircraft performance. Knowledge & experience of change process. Knowledge of SAP CAM toolset. Working knowledge of CATIA V5 for interrogation and drawing/model modification. Knowledge of PLM Teamcenter. Understanding of build tolerances and analysis Understanding of M&P requirements
