About The Royal Marsden Hospital

The Royal Marsden Hospital is one of Europe’s largest Oncology centres with sites in Chelsea, Sutton and Cavendish Square.

About the Role

We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic radiographers for a diagnostic MRI/CT radiographer post for our Cavendish Square site in Central London. The successful candidate would ideally have some postgraduate experience in cross-sectional imaging, however, training can be provided if required.

Desirable Skills

  • Some core skills would be desirable in cross-sectional imaging; however training will be provided where required.
  • Previous cannulation experience would be desirable; however training will be provided where required.

The successful candidate should be a highly motivated radiographer with good communication skills, who is keen to contribute positively to the imaging service at Cavendish Square.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and show a keen interest in the future of their profession and the diagnostic imaging services. They will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach as the department will operate between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday (and Saturday 9am to 5pm when operational).
  • The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of an efficient and effective diagnostic imaging service.
  • The post holder will liaise with the clinicians caring for a patient, other departments and other departmental staff within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • The post holder will be required to rotate between MRI and CT (and perform a very occasional x-ray where required).
  • While working within an oncological environment the post holder will be required to interact directly with terminally ill patients as well as being exposed at times to distressing and emotional situations. Patient presentation will include the unconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, distressed, disorientated, and those with physical and mental disabilities.
  • The post holder will have responsibility for the timely, efficient and courteous provision of imaging services within the available resources.
