MRO Systems Support Specialist

Company: Boeing Defence United Kingdom Limited

The MRO Systems Support Specialist will provide first-line support to end users of the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) system, ensuring compliance with data accuracy, processes, and military parts management. Supporting both current operations and the future transition to Siemens Opcenter, the role is ideal for those keen on developing expertise in aerospace systems, maintenance, and operational data management.


About the Role

This position operates under the guidance of a Senior Systems Support Lead, assisting day-to-day users while contributing to knowledge growth in aircraft MRO practices, military parts management, and system operations. Responsibilities include managing system usability, data integrity, and process workflows, ensuring alignment with approved maintenance and materials procedures.


Position Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support to MRO system users, including troubleshooting basic queries and technical issues
    • Log, track, and follow up on for support requests
    • Escalate complex issues to senior team members or technical support
  • Maintain and verify data accuracy for maintenance records, part details, status, and traceability, particularly for military aircraft operations
  • Assist users in understanding system processes and standard workflows, ensuring compliance with established procedures
  • Support testing of system changes, fixes, and migration activities, including the future transition to Siemens Opcenter
  • Collaborate with maintenance, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve routine operational issues
  • Contribute to documentation updates, including user guides, work instructions, and process manuals
  • Identify recurring issues or user pain points, helping drive continuous improvement
  • Participate in system training, knowledge transfer activities, and internal mentoring

Basic Qualifications

Essential qualifications and abilities:

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (United Kingdom)
  • A basic to intermediate understanding of aircraft MRO processes, including exposure to:
    • Aircraft parts, materials, or records control
    • Military parts management systems
  • Proven ability to:
    • Communicate effectively and coordinate between multiple stakeholders
    • Follow structured processes and maintain high standards of attention to detail
    • Troubleshoot at a foundational level and prioritise workload with guidance
    • Support end users in enterprise system operations, demonstrating comfort with data administration
  • Willingness to learn within an evolving technical environment
  • Experience as an aircraft apprentice or technician is advantageous (though not required)

Preferred Qualifications

Desirable skills and prior experience:

  • Experience in aerospace, maintenance, or supply chain environments
  • Familiarity with tooling, maintenance organisations, or MRO systems (enterprise platforms)
  • Comprehension of military/civil aircraft maintenance terminology and processes
  • User support experience in operational system environments, including data administration
  • Interest or background in enterprise systems migration or digital manufacturing (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, manufacturing execution) integration
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems with minimal supervision and adapt to change

Term, Location & Relocation

  • Shift: Not a shift worker position
  • Relocation: No relocation assistance. Candidates must be prepared to live in the immediate job area or arrange relocation at their own expense
  • UK Security Check: This role requires the ability to obtain a UK Security Clearance
  • Visa Sponsorship: Boeing will not sponsor applicants for employment visas
