Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 Support Specialist

Aspinal of London are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 Support Specialist with a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing NAV environments. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for NAV-related incidents and service requests, while also taking ownership of system configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires strong NAV technical knowledge, familiarity with its underlying database (SQL Server), and the ability to work closely with both end-users and developers to resolve issues, streamline processes, and contribute to system enhancements.

This is a hybrid role which will involve attendance at the office in Fernhurst.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 across all functional areas (Finance, Warehousing, Sales, Purchasing, and Inventory).
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve user issues, including:
    • Posting errors, dimension conflicts, and general ledger reconciliation issues.
    • Sales order, purchase order, and warehouse process failures.
    • Permission set and role-based access issues.
  • Perform basic NAV configuration and setup, such as:
    • Chart of Accounts, posting groups, VAT setup.
    • Item categories, inventory costing methods, and warehouse locations.
    • User roles, permission sets, and security filters.
  • Work directly with the SQL Server back-end to investigate data integrity issues, run queries, and support reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot C/AL customisations within NAV 2017 (with a view to exposure to AL in future Business Central upgrades).
  • Collaborate with external partners and 3rd line developers on escalated issues and system enhancements.
  • Support data migrations, upgrades, and testing during system projects.
  • Produce and maintain documentation, including functional specifications, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide user training and best practice guidance across business teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
