Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Power BI Developer
6 month contract
Outside IR35
Swindon Location - once a week onsite
Rate - circa 500 but flexible
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics & Power BI Engineer to join a DevOps squad delivering digital solutions for our business. You will design, build and support Dynamics 365 and Power BI solutions that support key energy-sector processes.
This is a hands-on role in a product-oriented environment, working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to deliver stable, secure, and scalable solutions.
Your tasks
- Design and implement solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365 aligned with business processes (e.g. operations, asset-related workflows)
- Configure and customise Dynamics (tables/entities, forms, views, business rules, business process flows, security roles)
- Develop plugins, custom workflow activities, and integrations using C#/.NET, JavaScript, and Power Automate
- Work with SQL-based and other enterprise data sources (data warehouse, data lake, etc.) to support reporting and integration scenarios
- Design and support integrations between Dynamics 365, other line-of-business systems, and data platforms (e.g. via APIs, Azure services)
- Design and build robust Power BI data models and reports, primarily using data from Dynamics 365 and related enterprise systems
- Develop and optimise DAX measures and calculations to deliver reliable KPIs, operational dashboards, and management reports
- Implement and maintain Power Query-based ETL logic and manage dataset refreshes and performance in Power BI Service
- Operate as part of a cross-functional DevOps squad, contributing to design, build, test, deployment, and run activities

Professional experience
- Several years of hands-on experience (typically 2-5+ years) working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI in an enterprise environment
- Proven track record delivering and supporting production solutions in a DevOps or Agile setting
- Strong experience with Dynamics 365 configuration:
- Entities/tables, forms, views
- Business rules, business process flows
