MSFS Fund Accountant – Associate (Glasgow)
Morgan Stanley’s Fund Services division delivers professional administration services to hedge fund, private equity, family office, and quant funds clients. Following robust expansion in recent years—including growth in administrative services—a(key team is now seeking Fund Accountant Associates to support ongoing and future initiatives as we look to 2026.

The Role: What You Will Do
In this critical Fund Accountant position, you’ll oversee client accounting processes, ensuring accurate P&L, balance sheet, and Net Asset Value (NAV) reporting. Key responsibilities include:
Core Duties & Accountabilities
- End-to-end NAV, P&L, and balance sheet management, including:
- Daily position reconciliations and cash balance reviews
- Aggregating price and trade issue alerts for escalation to clients
- Monthly capital flow monitoring, corporate action handling (e.g., dividends, issue/redemptions)
- Performance accuracy validation, income/expense journal reconciliation
- Developing expertise in hedge funds, private equity, and quant fund strategies, with a focus on:
- Investment structures and strategies
- Manager & incentive fee calculations (e.g., high water mark, clawback mechanics)
- Regulatory standards, compliance frameworks, and disclosure reporting
- Producing investor-level profit/loss and expense assignments at NAV/portfolio valuation points
- Collaborating with regional teams in Europe, Asia, and the US on deadlines and queries
- Partnering with client-facing relationship managers to resolve complex issues and implement process improvements

What We Look For
Essential Criteria
- A qualified/part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or Chartered Accountant (CA), (or appropriate international equivalent)
- or sufficient experience equivalent to this qualification
- Analytical and technical aptitude with high attention to detail
- Proven ability to multitask across priorities and timelines
- Problem-solver mindset, with capacity for escalating risks and suggesting operational improvements
- Adaptability to integrate with multilingual, multicultural teams
- Passion for continuous learning in hedge fund accounting and fintech trends

Desired Skills
