Makeup Artist & Beauty Consultant – Luxury Retail

Location: London

Schedule: Full-time (approx. 40–45 hours per week) Working Pattern: Retail schedule including weekends and event support


About The Opportunity

Our client, a London-based luxury beauty brand, is defining modern makeup through high-performance formulations and personalised beauty experiences.

They are seeking Makeup Artist & Beauty Consultants for their retail team in London, focusing on artistry, consultation, and bespoke services.

This full-time role blends makeup artistry, luxury retail service, and personalised consultations, requiring expertise in both product knowledge and client engagement to meet sales targets and exceed retail expectations.

  • Are you able to work weekends, events, and flexible retail shifts?

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the luxury brand in-store and at off-site beauty events.
  • Provide personalised beauty consultations and product recommendations.
  • Deliver bespoke makeup services including:
    • Express makeovers
    • Full makeup applications
    • Guiding clients through bespoke shade development
  • Mastery of product knowledge and expert makeup artistry.
  • Drive retail performance by exceeding sales targets.
  • Build client loyalty through tailored experiences.
  • Support in-store events and seasonal beauty promotions.
  • Maintain luxury retail standards, including merchandising and store presentation.
  • Assist with stock management and operational duties.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

✅ Luxury makeup artistry experience (preferably in retail settings). ✅ Strong grasp of colour theory and consultation techniques. ✅ Ability to perform multiple makeup styles confidently across diverse skin tones. ✅ Outstanding client engagement and relationship-building skills. ✅ Experience working under sales KPIs. ✅ Excellent retail operations knowledge (merchandising, inventory). ✅ Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. ✅ Maintains a professional, polished presentation in line with brand standards.


Makeup Artistry Expertise

Competencies required include:

  • Advanced product recommendations and matching strategies.
  • Skills in contouring, highlighting, complexion correction, and eye/lip artistry.
  • Confidence in demonstrating products to sell জbottom.
  • Aesthetic judgement for bespoke beauty shade creation.
  • Adaptability in trends and creative colour palettes.

Experience & Qualifications

Seeking candidates with:

  • Proven retail sales and client engagement experience.
  • Experience in luxury beauty or boutique environments.
  • Ability to foster recurring clients and brand loyalty.
  • Industry awareness of current trends and innovations.
  • Retail operations expertise (merchandising, stock control).
  • Preferred: formal makeup qualifications such as:
    • VTCT/NVQ Level 2/3 (Makeup/Benistry)
    • ITEC/CIDESCO qualifications
    • Certifications from recognised makeup academies or beauty brands.

Strong practical experience in luxury retail will be considered in exceptional cases.
