**Multi Drop Van Driver |
Permanent** Location: Polar Speed Distribution Ltd, Unit 10 The Hub, Nobel Way, Birmingham, B6 7EU Hours: 40-hour weekly commitment (6:30 AM - enhanced flexibility for 48-52 hours requiring occasional overtime) Salary: £12.71 per hour Employer: Polar Speed (A UPS Company) – A leading logistics partner specialising in temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical transportation.
About the Role

As a Multi Drop Van Driver for Polar Speed, you will:
- Transport critical pharmaceuticals across Birmingham and beyond
- Deliver ultra-sensitive medical supplies to healthcare providers and individual patients
- Maintain diagnostic temperature controls to ensure product integrity
- Combine driving with direct customer interaction, including patient assistance
This role is active, client-facing, career-progression focused, and requires flexibility, reliability, and dedication.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch & Compliance:
- Check and scan all consignments for accuracy
- Perform daily vehicle & refrigeration unit safety inspections
- Adhere to pharmaceutical temperature protocols (2°C–8°C range)
- Log all deliveries electronically and record service updates

Driving & Delivery Standards:
- Deliver all shipments on time, prioritising patient-urgent dispatches
- Maintain safe, professional driving in line with UPS fleet policies
- Represent Polar Speed with a smart, customer-ready appearance

Customer Engagement & Safety:
- Provide exceptional customer service to GP surgeries, pharmacies, wholesalers, and end users
- Assist patients with storage/rotation of medications (via stock restocking Wherever necessary)
- Maintain strict confidentiality around all medical/pharmaceutical inventory
Requirements & Eligibility
Must Haves
- B (passenger van) full UK driving licence
- A minimum of 2 years’ driving experience (3-point licence max)
- Error-free record of compliance with road safety & legal regulations
- Ability to multi-task whilst adhering to strict timelines
Preferred (but Not Mandatory)
- Previous experience as a delivery or van driver
- Understanding of pharmaceutical handling tricks (UKGTAs/GDP)
Personality & Skills
- Customer service focus with patience and empathy (critical for patient interactions)
- Clear communication to update dispatch teams, e.g.: 'Emergency supply under way'
- Resilience to use urgent requests and weekend tasks
- Team player with a positive attitude in a dynamic environment

Basis of Employment
- Location: Permanent; Birmingham city centre logistics hub
- Hours: 40-hour commitment with urgency-based overtimes (average 48–52 hours)
