Multi-Site HSE Manager
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager – FMCG Manufacturing
Location: West Bromwich | Permanent Role
MacGregor Black partnered with a manufacturing business seeking an experienced HSE Manager to drive health and safety standards through coaching, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
We are searching for an HSE professional with a strong technical background in FMCG manufacturing, particularly in food or drink production. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the H&S function, fostering a world-class safety culture while ensuring full compliance with UK and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the site’s H&S standards to achieve global best practice.
- Oversee regular site inspections, risk assessments, and training to ensure a safe working environment.
- Engage with multiple stakeholder groups (including all site workforces) to reinforce safety awareness.
- Manage corporate H&S initiatives, including process safety, contractor safety, and permit-to-work systems.
- Maintain accident/incident statistics and investigate all incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental laws and drive legal/corporate H&S programs.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and uphold certifications (ISO 14001: Environmental Management, ISO 45001: Occupational Health & Safety, ISO 50001: Energy Management).

Requirements
- DipNEBOSH (or equivalent occupational health and safety qualification)
- Proven experience in a technical industry (ideally engineering or FMCG – food/drink manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Ability to drive cultural change through mentoring, leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH, CMIOSH) would be advantageous.
- Experience in developing action plans and managing large-scale H&S programs.
