Due to the continued success and expansion of the business in the Southwest region of England & Wales we are looking for a Multi Skilled Fabric Engineer (Painting and Decorating Bias) to join our team. From complex repairs to the resolution of minor issues, your varied, but valued, contribution will help us create a hassle-free environment for all.

Reporting to the Fabric Supervisor, the Multi Skilled Fabric Engineer will be responsible for undertaking various planned and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as occasional new minor refurbishment work. You will work as part of the maintenance team and must demonstrate a sound knowledge commercial fabric repairs and maintenance and be willing to assist with any other reactive maintenance tasks within reason when required. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and improve efficiency. You will be required to participate in the company’s on-call rota.

Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday 40 Hours

The Multi Skilled Building Fabric Engineer Will

  • Work as part of the GRAHAM Facilities Management Team. You will play a key role in planning and completing a range of works with the main responsibility for the completion of planned, reactive, and remedial repairs.
  • Play a key role in planning and completing a range of works mainly associated with painting and decorating, however, also experience in tiling, drainage, minor roof repairs, finishes, plastering, flooring, etc., to building fabric systems or any required minor building fabric repairs dependent on relevant experience.
  • Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high-profile clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
  • Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
  • Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimize risks.
  • Utilize PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure an efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
  • Deal with a variety of clients on a daily basis. You will represent the company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
  • Provide a call-out response across all contracts.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an FM and building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance
  • Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing fabric tasks including PPM, General Building, Carpentry, Wet trade tasks, minor plumbing, and ground works
  • Current Full UK Driver’s License

Desirable Criteria

  • Working with SFG20
  • IOSH – Working safely or CSCS Card
  • IT Skills – in the use of PDA’s
  • Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
  • CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
  • Knowledge of Salto PPD for security systems
  • PASMA Card and IPAF Licence
