Job Purpose

Our Multi-Skilled Drivers are flexible, adaptable, and capable of driving any Class 2 vehicle within our fleet to support business operations when required. They must actively promote Slicker’s workplace values—Smart, Honest, Reliable, Together, and Fun.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

The multiskilled collection driver is responsible for:

  • Professional HGV Class 2 driving, primarily tanker operations, with occasional 18T box van work as needed
  • Collecting waste oil and other liquid products
  • Working nationwide, Monday to Friday
  • Completing all relevant electronic documentation to generate consignment notes
  • Maintaining compliance with legislation (e.g., daily walkaround checks, Working Time Directive)
  • Enforcing company health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Representing professionalism and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Applying Slicker’s values—Fun is a driver for success.

Essential Skills & Experience

✅ Practical experience in a similar role (waste collection, logistics, or transport environments preferred)

✅ Ability to handle physical demands (lifting containers/hoses—training/lifting equipment provided) ✅ Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including overnight commitments Monday to Friday when required ✅ Logical problem-solving to address site or travel-related challenges ✅ Strong communication and customer service skills with a positive, proactive approach ✅ Ability to work unsupervised with **strong teamwork, flexibility, and initiative

Required Licenses & Qualifications

🚛 HGV Class C (Class G2) Licence (essential) 🛡️ ADR Licence preferred

Hours & Pay

  • Standard hours: 48 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
  • Overtime available
  • Basic Salary: £38,078.33 per annum
  • OTE: £50,000 – £55,000 (Basic + Overtime + Potential Bonus)
