Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols, is searching for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its thriving Maintenance team in Knightsbridge.
About the role…
As a Multi-skilled engineer, you will take ownership of all maintenance, records, and daily tasks within the store. We are looking for someone who can work on projects and tasks alone whilst ensuring relevant departmental management are informed and there is a clear communication. You will:
- Complete maintenance tasks in line with priorities set by the Maintenance or Facilities Manager.
- Carry out all work safely and in full compliance with HASAWA, COSHH, EU Directives and company H&S procedures.
- Build effective working relationships across the store, Facilities team and with external contractors.
- Proactively identify, prevent and report Health & Safety risks, hazards and defects, providing clear repair methods and timescales.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date maintenance records and logs in line with company and legislative requirements.
- Develop strong knowledge of all store plant, equipment and building systems.
- Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and report findings promptly.
- Work effectively with contractors and internal teams, including IT for EPOS/computer equipment issues to ensure swift, efficient repairs with minimal downtime.

Is this you?
We are looking for individuals who embrace diversity, love a challenge, are passionate about luxury retail and food and are looking for something uniquely different.
- Relevant technical or trade qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Experience in general building maintenance or facilities operations, including PPM tasks.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (H.A.S.A.W.A., COSHH, EU directives) and safe working practices.
- Ability to maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and compliance documentation.
- Experience identifying, reporting, and resolving defects across plant, equipment, and building systems.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors and internal teams
- Familiarity with building plant and systems, with the ability to quickly learn site-specific equipment.
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and complete tasks to required standards and deadlines.
