Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Thrapston, Northamptonshire
£45,000 - £56,000 + Excellent Benefits
Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys fault finding, improving machinery and being part of a site that genuinely invests in its people? Unlike many manufacturing sites, you'll have access to a fully equipped engineering workshop complete with fabrication facilities, lathe, milling equipment and welding bays, allowing engineers to get involved in practical improvement projects rather than simply responding to breakdowns.
The Shift Pattern
- 4 on, 4 off shift pattern with a 1 in 4 night shift rotation, providing a strong work-life balance while maintaining exposure to all areas of the operation.

The Role
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding on automated production and packaging equipment
- Planned preventative maintenance activities
- Continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Installation and commissioning support for new machinery
- Fabrication and workshop engineering work
- Supporting operational performance through proactive engineering solutions
- Working closely with production teams to maximise equipment uptime

- ProSeal and Redpack machinery
- Multi-head weighers
- Flow wrappers
- Conveyors and automated packaging systems
- Various fresh produce processing and packing equipment

About You
- Multi-skilled maintenance engineering experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, fresh produce, packaging or automated production environments
- Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or equivalent qualification
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Welding, fabrication or machining experience would be advantageous
