The Role

Our new Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician will play a vital role in maintaining and improving manufacturing performance across multiple operational areas. Working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you'll support planned maintenance, fault finding, continuous improvement initiatives, and asset reliability while helping to deliver key Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Environment and Manpower (QCDSEM) objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Engineering Technician or Shift Engineer looking to develop their skills within a business that values continuous improvement, innovation, and professional growth.

Shift Patterns available depending on skills

  • 4 on 4 off days 0500-1700
  • 4 on 4 off days and nights (DDNN) 0700-1900/1900-0700

Your Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving site assets while supporting operational performance through:

  • Carrying out electrical, mechanical and utilities maintenance across site operations
  • Supporting production teams with start-ups, shutdowns, product changeovers and process issues
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance activities and responding to breakdowns efficiently
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing effective corrective actions to minimise downtime
  • Driving asset reliability and performance improvement initiatives
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects and maintenance best practices
  • Ensuring compliance with engineering processes, maintenance systems and site standards
  • Promoting a positive safety culture through hazard reporting, risk awareness and safe working practices
  • Food experience working with production machinery such as spiral freezers, multivac, venmag, mixers, bowl choppers, Ishidas, plate freezing, Kapp-assi packers, mondinis, Babcock boilers and cooking vessels guisti an advantage

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a proactive engineering professional who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a manufacturing environment.

You Will Have

  • A recognised Engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities
  • Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Experience working within a food manufacturing environment (desirable)
  • A flexible and self-motivated approach with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Food experience working with production machinery such as spiral freezers, multivac, venmag, mixers, bowl choppers, Ishidas, plate freezing, Kapp-assi packers, mondinis, Babcock boilers and cooking vessels guisti an advantage
