What you’ll do

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our production site. Working in a small, skilled team (2 engineers per shift), you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a complex manufacturing operation with nine production lines.

The main purpose of the job is to prevent any malfunction of the equipment, apparatus, machinery or systems that are used in the production process and carries out tasks to prevent future disturbances.

You may also support other facilities than production, such as R&D laboratories, office facilities, as well as technical buildings (utilities) and systems for logistics and storage. The job takes care of any trouble shooting in order to keep to production process running.

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to breakdowns across the site, you will be responsible for fault finding and repair across both mechanical systems and electrical/automation controls.

You will maintain and continuously improve plant equipment, including conveyors, mixing, bagging, and packaging systems, while supporting initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce downtime. Alongside accurately recording all maintenance activities within the CMMS/EAM system, you will work closely with operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. In addition, you will contribute to a safety-first culture within a DSEAR-regulated environment, including the handling of explosive and high-concentration materials, while supporting a highly dynamic operation producing approximately 80–90k tonnes annually across multiple product types.

This is a high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment with significant variation across products and processes. The facility includes mixing, blending, and packaging operations, and operates with stringent safety and quality standards. This role operates on a rotating 3-shift pattern (Early: 05:30 – 14:00, Late: 13:30 – 22:00, Night: 21:30 – 06:00).

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a capable, hands-on engineer who can work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment where reliability is critical.

You’ll also need:

Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment. Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems (or ideally strong in one, and willingness to develop the other).v Experience with both planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support. Comfortable working shifts and adapting to operational demands Ability to work independently as part of a small shift team Experience with automation, controls, conveyors, or packaging equipment is desirable. Previous experience in high-risk or regulated environments (e.g. DSEAR, food/feed production).
