Location: Peterborough Salary: £53,000 - £56,500 Shift Pattern: Days & Nights
My client is a world-leading company with top-tier facilities, an excellent benefits package, and a truly remarkable working culture. They are seeking a multi-skilled or electrically biased engineer with hands-on manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdown repairs, and fault-finding across a variety of production and packaging machinery.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC faults to ensure smooth production and minimise downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to execute repairs and machine modifications.
- Support the engineering team during shifts, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability, performance, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Maintain accurate CMMS records while adhering to engineering procedures.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to respond swiftly to breakdowns and facilitate changeovers, maximising line availability.
- Strictly adhere to health and safety protocols, ensuring all maintenance work is conducted safely in compliance with site standards.

Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical engineering, mechanical maintenance, or a related industrial field.
- Strong expertise in PLCs, schematics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, including the ability to fabricate or repair components as required.
- Sound mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in troubleshooting diverse machinery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for collaboration and reporting.
- Preferred but not essential: Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) in engineering disciplines. Substantial hands-on experience will suffice.
