Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Shift Pattern (18:00 - 06:00)

Our sites operate under intense demand and complexity—some running 24/7. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll ensure our machinery functions at peak performance, supporting fast, reliable production while maintaining high standards.

In this hands-on role, you’ll:

  • Maintain, repair, and continuously improve industrial equipment to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
  • Report to the Site Engineering Manager and work across mechanical, electrical, and process systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to preempt disruptions
  • Rapidly diagnose and resolve machinery breakdowns (or escalate to specialists when needed)
  • Adjust and changeover machinery to support production line flexibility
  • Monitor accuracy and calibrate equipment to meet quality and safety standards
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify process improvements and provide technical support
  • Document all maintenance—schedules, repairs, and inventory—with meticulous record-keeping
  • Enforce health and safety policies and ensure compliance with company procedures
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies

About You

We’re looking for a hands-on professional with:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in mechanical/electrical engineering (e.g., ONC, BTEC Level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
  • Deep knowledge of FMCG-specific industrial processes, conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for critical assets
  • A proactive, reliability-focused approach to maintenance
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles (IEE qualifications up to 17th Edition wiring regulations would be highly beneficial)
  • Clear communication with teams and production staff
  • Assertiveness and confidence in making fast decisions
  • Initiative, work ethic, and a can-do attitude
