Multiskilled Engineer (Night Shift)
Location: Stamford area
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Shift: 6:00pm - 3:00am
Working Days: Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multiskilled Engineer. Working as part of the engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining plant machinery, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across site operations.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of performance, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on plant machinery and equipment
- Minimise downtime and support production to meet operational targets
- Maintain site facilities and infrastructure to a high standard
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures (risk assessments, permits to work, etc.)
- Prioritise workload to support production efficiency
- Complete accurate daily maintenance records and documentation
- Support production start-ups and provide engineering presence on shift
- Identify and implement improvements to machinery, processes, and safety
- Ensure all work meets food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in audit-ready condition

What We're Looking For
- Multiskilled engineering experience (electrical and/or mechanical)
- Background within food manufacturing or FMCG preferred
- Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise across departments and with contractors
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- Understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices

Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support
- Assist with training and development of team members where required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
- Provide shift handovers and communicate key issues effectively
