The Role
The Multiskilled Engineer plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence by achieving and communicating performance targets across their designated areas. Key responsibilities include:
Core Responsibilities

Monitor & improve operational metrics:
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Service levels
- Quality standards
- OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance
- Downtime management & planned maintenance compliance
- Stock level optimisation
- Complaint reduction programmes
- SSOW/SOP adherence
- Safety conversations & risk assessments
- Internal & external audits
- Performance measurement (MTBF & MTTR – Fix it once, fix it right)

Team & contractor oversight & support:
- Supervise contractors to ensure their safe working practices and high-standard task completion while promoting a ‘fix it right, fix it once’ approach.
- Lead engineering resolution efforts for breakdowns and maintain PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) schedules.
- Coordinate necessary parts and materials sourcing for repairs & improvements.

Technical execution & documentation:
- Conduct electrical and mechanical installations within their qualified scope.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical faults per safety and operational standards.
- Record all maintenance activities in SAP.

Maintenance & compliance:
- Conduct and ensure completion of planned & unplanned maintenance activities to defined standards.
- Carry out point-of-work risk assessments.
- Maintain Engineering Housekeeping standards and organise audits as required.
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standards) requirements.

Collaboration & engagement:
- Work seamlessly with engineering teams and production staff.
- Maintain clear, structured shift handover communications to enhance operational continuity.
- Engage fully in health & safety practices and training.
