Multi-skilled Finishing Operatives – Hawick

Who are we looking for?

We are currently offering several exciting opportunities for multi-skilled finishing Operatives to learn and grow within our business. This role is critical to our production process, ensuring accuracy and quality by focusing on tabbing, attaching labels and tags to textile products. The work must meet our required standards for identification, branding, and quality assurance.

Multi-skilled Finishing Operatives are expected to:

  • Be proficient or willing to train across related tasks in finishing.
  • Be adaptable, detail-oriented, skilled in the Ticket, Tab, Fold and Bag (TTFB) area.
  • Assist in carrying out various textile production tasks as needed.

The successful candidate will become a flexible member of our broader production team.

Key Responsibilities

Core tasks include

  • Labelling & Tagging: Accurately attach tabs, labels, and identification markers to textile products, ensuring precision and compliance with company standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed products for correctly applied labels/tags, ensuring no damage during attachment. Verify all details are accurate, including sizes, materials, and care instructions.
  • Multitasking: Assist with fold, bagging, sorting, and product inspection, depending on business needs.
  • Teamwork: Collaboratively work with production and quality control teams to meet deadlines and maintain production-line efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stocks of tags/labels and report any shortages to ensure workflow continuity.
  • Problem-Solving: Support maintaining tagging equipment by identifying and troubleshooting issues.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold company and industry safety protocols, actively contributing to a secure environment.

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

✔ How willing to learn and take on responsibility. ✔ Strong attention to detail in a meticulous setting. ✔ A dedicated work ethic to deliver quality outcomes. ✔ Experience or understanding of textiles manufacturing/finishing. ✔ Self-motivated, adaptable and capable of working both independently and under pressure. ✔ Effective interpersonal skills, allowing smooth relationships with colleagues.
