Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Newport | 45 hours per week (Mon-Fri) £51,461 + comprehensive benefits

Exampleshift Pattern

  • Week 1: Mon–Fri, 9:30pm – 6:30am
  • Week 2: Mon 11am – 10pm; Tues–Fri 1:30pm – 10pm
  • Weeks 3 & 4: Mon–Fri, 5:30am – 2:30pm

We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Newport! This role is key to upholding our vision: ensuring seamless production, preventing downtime, and supporting our operational excellence.


Responsibilities

We need you to take fault detection and equipment maintenance to the next level. Your role will include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues to minimise unexpected production downtime
  • Collaborating with teams across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems to uphold factory standards
  • Deploying safe, logical troubleshooting techniques with expertise in accurate solutions
  • Contributing to condition-based performance through technical expertise and communication

Requirements

This role demands proven technical expertise. Your skills must include:

  • Strong, hands-on practical experience with electrical systems, backed by:
    • A practical background or equal
    • Electrical City & Guilds (C&G 2320) P1/P2 or equivalent (e.g., ONC or NVQ3)
  • In-depth knowledge of IEE 18th Edition regulations
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance in health, safety, and environmental standards
  • A proven track record in plant maintenance, faultfinding, and defect rectification
  • Ability to interpret technical issues, communicate effectively, and mentor production/team-leader teams with clarity
