Location: Middlesbrough Contract: Days only – 4 on / 4 off Salary: £48,000
Overview
This progressive and long-standing business specialises in delivering high-quality products across the United Kingdom. They are now seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support their growing team.
About the Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing and resolving equipment failures to ensure safe and timely return to operation.
- Repairs breakdowns and implements corrective actions.
- Collaborates with engineering teams to address long-term engineering issues.
- Manages spare parts ordering/logistics via the maintenance management system.
- Diagnoses electrical faults, assesses risks, and provides recommendations to prevent future failures.
- Schedules, records, and reports maintenance activities using notifications.

Preventive Maintenance Duties:
- Completes planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in alignment with schedules.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all scheduled PPM tasks are completed efficiently.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, we require:
- Substantial experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- A strong work ethic with self-motivation, initiative, and an ability to inspire others.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritising responsibilities while maintaining accuracy.
- Completed an apprenticeship as a Maintenance Engineer.
- A working knowledge of engineering best practices.
- A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent City & Guilds/HNC qualification).
- Familiarity with PLC systems.
