Job Title – Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location – Elloughton, East Yorkshire

Salary – £37,000 - £40,000

Shift – Monday to Friday Days (7:30am – 4:30pm) Flexible Hours Available

Job Role of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

A rare opportunity has become available for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a unique and highly specialised agricultural manufacturing environment. This role offers the chance to become the sole engineer on site, taking ownership of maintenance activities across a 4-hectare commercial glasshouse operation producing high-quality tomatoes using a blend of traditional growing methods and modern technology.

The successful engineer will work closely with the Growing Manager and have the opportunity to learn from the current engineer ahead of their retirement, providing a structured handover and excellent training opportunity. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys autonomy, variety, and a hands-on approach to maintenance.

You will be responsible for carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance across a range of equipment including:

Sector – Agricultural Manufacturing / Glasshouse Maintenance

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, agricultural or similar environment.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled discipline).
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.

Desirable Requirements for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • FLT Licence.
  • Experience working with irrigation systems, hydraulic equipment or agricultural machinery.
  • Forces engineering background considered.
  • Experience working with automated equipment or robotics would be advantageous.
