The Opportunity
An award-winning manufacturer is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a highly automated production facility just south of Leeds.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to work on some of the site's most critical production equipment. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the machinery that controls production across the factory, working on advanced systems, complex components, and technically challenging equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The business has an excellent reputation for developing its engineers and offers genuine opportunities to progress into Engineering Leadership or Continuous Improvement (CI) positions. Alongside career progression, the company invests heavily in training and development, including electrical, automation, and advanced engineering courses.
Working a 4 on 4 off days-only shift pattern, you'll join a stable engineering team within a business that continues to invest in both its technology and its people.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
