Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established manufacturing business that continues to invest heavily into its sites, equipment and engineering function. This is a business where engineers are encouraged to get involved in far more than reactive maintenance, with ongoing investment projects, equipment upgrades and site improvements creating a varied and engaging engineering environment.
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for electrical fault finding, planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response across a range of manufacturing equipment. Alongside day-to-day maintenance activities, engineers are actively involved in installations, continuous improvement projects and supporting the wider engineering team to drive reliability across multiple sites.
This role would suit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and taking ownership of their work. The successful candidate will be joining a close-knit engineering team where collaboration, knowledge sharing and a proactive approach are highly valued.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
