Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a well-established UK manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance and reliability of a wide range of production machinery and site equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced production setting, carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults in a timely manner.
  • Support the smooth operation of critical production lines and site assets.
  • Maintain accurate electronic maintenance records and work logs.
  • Order and follow up on spare parts as required.
  • Liaise with contractors and equipment manufacturers when necessary.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
  • Provide clear handovers between shifts and support the wider engineering team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with proven workplace experience.
  • Multi-skilled engineering capability with electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience carrying out both reactive and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach.

Desirable Skills:

  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Apprentice-trained background.
  • Experience within print, packaging, paper converting, FMCG, or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience working with high-speed production machinery.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
