The Multi Skilled Operative will tackle everything from plumbing repairs to grounds maintenance, delivering high-quality repairs with independence, safety, and a customer-service mindset. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Execute planned and reactive repairs across a range of trades:
- Plumbing & drainage
- Minor building works & tiling
- Decorating & plastering
- Grounds maintenance
- Property general repairs

- Deliver "right-first-time" solutions, combining technical expertise with problem-solving to ensure efficiency.
- Work independently with minimum supervision, prioritising health and safety across multiple sites.
- Provide out-of-hours emergency support via a 1-in-8 on-call rota (covering Saturday mornings: 8.00am–12.30pm) for reactive maintenance.
- Accurately document work (using electronic & paper-based systems)—materials used, progress, and updates.
- Build strong relationships with residents, clients, suppliers, and colleagues to foster trust and exceptional service.
Requirements
Background & Skills
This role is perfect for you if you have:
- Proven multi-trade experience in property maintenance (with plumbing as your core skill).
- A portfolio of well-rounded skills including:
- Plastering & tiling
- Decorating & general building maintenance
- Prior experience working with:
- Domestic housing (or social housing/facilities management settings).
- A full UK driving licence (essential for site travel/logistics).
Mindset & Attitude
We’re looking for:
- Strong problem-solving ability and the drive to work independently with minimum oversight.
- A customer-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, reliability, and resilience—to adapt to urgent priorities and the on-call rota.
- The ability to complete BPSS security clearance prior to start.
