Multi Skilled Operative (Flooring) – Permanent Position
Location: Ashington Salary: £29,948 per annum (pro-rata as applicable) Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent Closing Date: 5 PM, Friday 10th July 2026
About the Role
Bernicia Housing Group is seeking a passionate and skilled Multi Skilled Operative specialising in flooring to join our Property Maintenance and Construction team. You’ll be working across both domestic and commercial properties, delivering high-quality flooring solutions while ensuring excellent customer service.

- Undertaking all types of flooring work across domestic and commercial properties to a high standard
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional standards
- Applying multi-skilled trade competencies across flooring, construction, and maintenance
- Following construction drawings and risk assessments to ensure safety
- Leading target-driven work while demonstrating adaptability, teamwork, and clear communication
Requirements
Matching Qualifications & Experience
To be considered, you must have:
✔ NVQ Level 2 in Floorcovering or be currently working towards it ✔ Approximately 2 years’ on-site training in a flooring-related environment ✔ Relevant multi-skilled construction experience for additional building tasks ✔ Valid CSCS card (if required for the role) ✔ Demonstrable experience in both commercial and domestic property environments ✔ Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment ✔ Sound understanding of building construction, components, and trade principles

- Clear communication skills to interact with colleagues, customers, and contractors
- Attention to detail to ensure high standards of workmanship
- Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
