Job Description

Multi Skilled Plumber

37 Hours per week

£33,913.03

Alliance Norse is currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Plumber to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As the Multi Skilled Plumber, you will undertake a variety of responsive repairs and refurbishment plumbing works on behalf of Alliance Norse, predominantly working on the Council's housing stock but may include non-housing, commercial, and other properties as required.

Duties

  • Carrying out all aspects of 1st and 2nd FIX plumbing works, working from detailed plumbing design drawings and specifications.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance inspection certificates and reports are completed to specification and signed by the appropriate person, ready for submission to the Client/Client Agent.
  • Carrying out diagnostic fault finding on a wide range of plumbing installations, equipment, and apparatus, including commercial installations and toilets.
  • Carrying out dynamic risk assessments where appropriate risk assessments do not exist.
  • Preparing and undertaking plumbing installations to a high standard.
  • Performing other trades duties including basic carpentry, plastering, and tiling where required.
  • Liaising with the scheduling team on the completion of the work to ensure the most effective use of time and resources and to ensure that they are made aware of the progress of works and where works may extend past the target date.
  • Working in accordance with all relevant Norse Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations, Health & Safety Legislation, and best practice guidelines.
  • Reporting any hazards or concerns to the supervisor or line manager.
  • Engaging with the operational team, focused on the achievement of service plans and departmental priorities, providing guidance in your area of professional specialism.
  • Keeping up to date with changing legislation, standards, and technology, receiving training in all facets of the role.
  • Covering the on-call rota as and when required.

Our successful candidate

  • City and Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in a plumbing-related subject
  • Familiar with COSHH regulations
  • Knowledge in minor carpentry, plastering, and tiling
  • Sound knowledge of Kitchen and Bathroom installations
  • Extensive experience in 1st and 2nd FIX domestic plumbing installations
  • Previous experience working within social housing properties – Void and planned works
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Ability to organize own work to schedule
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
