Multi Skilled Service Engineer, RECRUITMENT HELPLINE

Multi Skilled Service Engineer – Purified Water Systems

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (OTE £45,000) based on experience

Location: Shildon, County Durham (DL4)

Working Hours: 37.5 hrs/week, 09:00am – 17:00pm

  • Additional hours paid at 1.5× overtime rate

Holiday Entitlement: 33 days (25 days + statutory bank holidays)

About the Role

As a Multi Skilled Service Engineer, you’ll combine mechanical and/or electrical/instrumentation expertise in a dynamic manufacturing facility across multiple UK sites.

  • Primarily based at our facility in Shildon, County Durham
  • Required to work independently with occasional unsupervised assignments
  • Support routine installations, commissioning and maintenance for purified water systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instrumentation setup and calibration
  • Reverse osmosis membrane and filter replacements
  • Mechanical service maintenance (e.g., WFI/PSG pressure vessel disassembly)
  • Chemical cleaning procedures
  • Electrical and instrument troubleshooting (12VDC – 415VAC)
  • Adhering to approved method statements with on-the-job training included

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an engineer (preferably mechanical, electrical, process, chemical or services)
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Process Equipment, particularly:
    • Pre-treatment
    • RO/EDI
    • WFI Distillation
    • Plant & Clean Steam Generators (advantageous)

Qualifications:

  • Trade-qualified (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND)

  • Valid Driver’s License required (company vehicle and fuel card provided)

  • Willingness to:

    • Undertake frequent UK-wide site travel (e.g., Monday mornings to Friday afternoons)
    • Occasionally travel on Sundays, with accommodation/expenses paid

Competency Expectations:

  • Ability to demonstrate proven access to purified water systems and process equipment
  • Independent working capability
