At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We're looking for a Technical Supervisor who will lead and support the delivery of all operations, installations, and maintenance activities across the estate, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high‑performing environment for all building users. The role spans two sites and leads a team of four engineers, supporting a luxury retail office site and a warehouse/office environment, maintaining a high‑standard, client‑focused service and ensuring practical, fast‑paced maintenance delivery with an emphasis on Health and Safety.
Role Responsibilities: Lead and support a team of 4 engineers across both site locations, ensuring balanced resource allocation and consistent service delivery. Support delivery of contract KPIs and identify improvement opportunities. Bring innovation to the contract to improve the current systems. Support staff development and identify training needs. Procure materials and equipment within operational budgets. Promote energy‑efficiency initiatives across both locations. Act as a role model for effective use of PDAs, asset management systems, and digital workflows. Maintain statutory and non‑statutory logs (e.g., emergency lighting, FCUs, water regimes). Oversee water hygiene controls and logbook accuracy. Ensure strict compliance with company and client safety systems and requirements. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality of engineering and asset data within Mozaic (CAFM), informing maintenance planning and improving asset lifecycle management. Manage subcontracted resources, ensuring aligned delivery standards and compliance. Support colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth multi‑site operations. Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Undertake all training required for the role and ensure timely completion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
