About the Role
At Adler & Allan, no two days are the same. We’re seeking a motivated, hands-on Environmental Response HGV Technician / Multi-Skilled Operative to join our dynamic team in Rainham.
This is far more than a standard HGV driving role. You’ll be part of a specialist operational team, delivering critical environmental services including:
- Emergency spill response
- Industrial cleaning & remediation
- Drainage works
- On-site environmental projects, locally and nationwide

Responsibilities
- Operating company vehicles (HGV Class 2 tankers and specialist equipment)
- Conducting high-pressure water jetting, drain, and interceptor cleaning
- Supporting environmental spill response, including oil, fuel, and chemical incidents
- Assisting with tank uplifts, industrial cleaning, forecourt PPM works, and remediation projects
- Managing pumps, vacuums, and hoses for environmental response operations
- Collaborating with experienced operatives on major projects and reactive works
- Completing vehicle checks, site paperwork, and safety documentation
- participating in emergency response call-outs as part of the on-call rota.

Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
✅ Valid HGV Class 2 Licence ✅ Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card ✅ Practical, hands-on attitude with a strong work ethic ✅ Basic experience in:
- Tankering
- Drainage or jetting operations
- Simple environmental services tasks ✅ Ability to operate vehicles safely and comply with tachograph regulations
Desirable (Highly Favoured)
🔹 Experience in groundworks, remediation, or industrial cleaning 🔹 Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations 🔹 Flexible approach to overtime, travel, and emergency workloads

Terms & Additional Payments
This role includes: ✔ Participation in an on-call rota (approx. 1 week every 5–6 weeks) for emergency shifts ✔ On-call allowance ✔ Call-out payments ✔ Overtime hours available
