Jackson Hewitt is on a mission to advocate for their clients, ensuring they receive the maximum tax refund, quickly and with minimal fees. This position requires management expertise in staffing, productivity, tax prep, and marketing for 2-3 store locations within an assigned district.
About the Role
Under general supervision and in compliance with company policies, the Multi Store Manager (MSM):
- Participates in full oversight of seasonal team members and operational efficiency.
- Maximises the output of Tax Preparer work while increasing revenue and office profitability.
- Handles highly confidential financial data, making a strong understanding of tax preparation and accounting critical.
- Relocation Bonus of $5,000 available.
Pay range: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year (adjusted for experience in management and tax prep).
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
- Leads seasonal hiring, interviews, and onboarding for assigned districts.
- Monitors staff performance to ensure quality standards, deadlines, and procedural compliance.
- Reviews & approves schedules, timecards, and manages time tracking across shifts.

Operational Oversight
- Ensures all assigned locations meet company standards, including:
- Office setup and facilities maintenance
- Technology, telecommunications, and office supplies management
- Continuing relationship with property managers and landlords
- Resolves escalated complaints or disputes and complex issues for employees.
Performance Metrics & Compliance
- Tracks the performance of assigned locations, including:
- Holds/voids/rejects reports
- Discount utilisation
- Productivity reports and revenue targets
- Ensures adherence to financial controls, including cash control and tax return accuracy.
Skills & Education
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (prior business or accounting experience valuable).
- Tax preparation or accounting coursework preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- Spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word), and tax software.
- Email, internet research, and basic data management.
- Knowledge of tax principles, ability to obtain a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) greatly valued.
Required Experience
- Two years in general or supervisory tax prep, accounting, or management roles.
- Strong compliance awareness due to sensitive financial data handling.
