Multi-Trade Operative – Plumbing / Joinery
Location: Heritage Wharf
Salary: £35,579 - £37,452 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
We are looking for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team based in Ashton – Under – Lyne. Working as part of a team carrying out repairs and maintenance. You will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks.
This position sits within Property Services who are responsible for delivering high quality and cost-effective property repairs, compliance and installation and estate services. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.
Responsibilities
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in accordance with contract and service Specifications
- Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed
- Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed

Skills and Experiences
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (joinery, plumbing. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, Joinery, carpentry and plastering
- Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
